WHERE LEGISLATORS FIND THE ANSWERS ON AG AND RURAL POLICY
To see a summary of parts of the 2017 Legislative Ag Chairs Summit from an attendee's point of view, take a look at North Carolina Senator Brent Jackson's Blog.
Dear Friends,
Once again it is time for the Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit. I am so excited and proud to welcome you to my home state and Louisiana’s capital city of Baton Rouge for the 2017 Summit! From its vibrant cultural heritage and unique political history to its distinctive culinary cuisines and ultimate outdoor adventures, Louisiana truly has something for everyone. And better than that, most every aspect of Louisiana’s rich heritage is rooted in its bountiful agricultural resources.
I am confident that the summit’s agenda will generate insightful discussions on today’s most pressing agriculture and rural development challenges facing our states. A variety of tours will be offered that highlight Louisiana’s unique aquaculture products such as catfish, crawfish and alligator. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take an inside look at the nation’s largest maximum-security prison farm as well as a visit to our strongest partner’s grain terminal and chemical production facilities.
So come on down to the Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit in Louisiana! You’re sure to learn, taste, see and experience something new! See you soon!
Senator Francis Thompson
Chair, Senate Agriculture Committee
