The quality of our transportation infrastructure is paramount to getting products into and out of rural communities. Are there answers to funding of infrastructure projects? How will the growing number of electric and hybrid vehicles impact our infrastructure funding?
Adams first served four years in the Utah State House of Representatives before joining the Senate in 2009. In 2004, he Adams was named Legislator of the Year by two organizations: the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce and the International Code Council. Adams is a former chairman of the Utah State Transportation Commission. He also served as chairman of the Military Installation Development Authority.
Kevin Pula is a policy specialist with the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Transportation Program. In this role, Mr. Pula leads NCSL’s transportation funding and finance policy research efforts and assists state legislatures in related policy matters. He tracks state legislation related to motor fuel taxes, variable-rate gas taxes, alternative fuels and electric vehicles, bonding and transportation appropriations. Additionally, Mr.
Mike Steenhoek is executive director of the Soy Transportation Coalition (STC), an initiative established in 2007 and comprised of the United Soybean Board, the American Soybean Association, and twelve state soybean boards. The Soy Transportation Coalition exists to promote a cost-effective, reliable and competitive transportation system that serves the agriculture industry.
